Ignite LiteracT2Learning is a non-profit organization that seeks to reach our most vulnerable K-2 students.
The organization provides ongoing support to those students in K-2 Title 1 schools who are identified as below grade level in reading and literacy.
The organization provides much-needed tutoring and summer camps that focus on reading proficiency, language development, and student growth.
The organization operates a literacy and reading intervention program designed to improve
reading proficiency among students in kindergarten through second grade.
The program
provides evidence-based instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, reading
fluency, and reading comprehension through individualized and small-group interventions.
Children with low reading proficiency are more likely to drop out of high school, acquire low-paying jobs that limit access to health care, and have increased risks for numerous adverse health outcomes. (schs.dph.ncdhhs.gov)
